PLAY ON A TEAM

Uniforms:

Staples Squash provides a team uniform (shirt and shorts) for all players which must be returned at the end of the season. The uniform must be worn to all matches. There will also be an opportunity for players to purchase their own uniforms. This is entirely optional and will be discussed at parent meeting.  A notification will be sent when the online shop opens for uniform and logo wear purchases.

Referee Tutorial:

All players must referee so knowing the rules of squash, and how to score, is critical. To help players learn, or brush up on, the refereeing process, a tutorial session will be held at the start of the main season. This is strongly recommended for those who don’t hold a current US Squash referee certificate. US Squash offers a referee exam which can be taken through their website. This exam is a requirement for any tournament players but incredibly valuable for anyone participating in match play.

US Squash / ClubLocker Membership:

It’s a FairWest League requirement that all match players must be US Squash members. There is no cost to signing up your son/daughter on the US Squash website and creating a profile. Go to the US Squash Membership page and click on Create Free Account. (Paid accounts are ONLY necessary if your child plans to play individual US Squash accredited tournaments.) Once a member, and after your child begins to compete, he/she will build upon a squash rating and ranking. The individual squash rating is important as it will establish a means for lining up the player’s matches vs other high school programs.
